The internet has been left in stitches after a viral video of a dog appearing to mouth “meatballs” while waiting outside a Subway was uploaded onto TikTok.
In a video posted to TikTok by user kimballgainor, that showed a well-trained pooch waiting outside a Subway store, seemingly keen to get his paws on a footlong, or so a cheeky voiceover would lead viewers to believe.
It’s unsurprising so many users were keen to check out the pooch’s antics, with an estimated 48 million homes in the US having a dog in 2018, according to the American Veterinary Medical Association.
The clip, which can be viewed here, showed the dog patiently waiting outside for its owner to return—all while yawning moving its mouth.
In a moment of brilliance, Kimballgainor decided to do a voiceover for the dog’s mouth flaps, which was well received on the social media platform.
The voiceover went: “I can’t believe they didn’t let me in again and this is kind of stupid. Mum, mum, mum, mum. Get foot long. Oh she’s reaching for the wrong one. I said foot long. Cheese and meatballs.”
Since being uploaded on Monday, the post has gone on to be viewed 6.3 million times and attracted some 1.2 million likes.
TikTok users quickly raced to the comment section to praise the woman’s voice over and pleaded for the dog to be given a footlong sub.”
One TikTok user said: “I’m actually laughing out loud. It looks like he’s really saying that.”
Another added: “Love this, made my day. Someone get him a meatball sub and make sure it’s a footlong.”
A third commenter posted: “The commentary I didn’t know I needed lmao [laughing my a** off]. ‘Mmmmeatballs’ killed me.”
It’s unsurprising the clip of the dog received so many views and likes, with content featuring pooches being some of the most popular on TikTok.
