A video of Amber Heard testifying in court has gone viral on social media after the actress claimed her dog stepped on a bee.
The Aquaman star’s 2018 op-ed she wrote for The Washington Post, which didn’t mention Johnny Depp by name, is at the center of the defamation case between her and the actor.
Amid the case, one of Heard’s comments during a recent testimony has started trending on the internet.
Amber Heard says her dog stepped on a bee
During her testimony on Wednesday (May 4th), Amber Heard came forward with certain claims about Depp and their dogs.
As Insider reports, the Aquaman star claimed: “He grabs this teacup Yorkie and Boo out of the window of the moving car, and he’s howling like an animal while holding the dog out the window.”
“And everyone in the car – I’ll never forget it – everyone just froze. No one did anything. I too was torn as to what I should do because I didn’t want to do anything to cause him to react and drop the dog.”
But one certain line from her testimony has gone viral on social media as many people were left confused about its relevance.
“My dog stepped on a bee,” the actress said as she paused and made a facial expression. The comment appeared to puzzle the Pirates of the Caribbean star, while his lawyer leaned across to tell the actor something.
Heard’s line goes viral on TikTok
A number of TikTok users have turned Heard’s line about her dog into a viral trend.
Meanwhile, some Twitter users were left wondering what happened to the dog after the bee incident.
“My whole TikTok is just people who have stitched that video of Amber Heard saying her dog stepped on a bee,” commented one user.
Someone else asked: “Btw, what happened after the dog stepped on a bee? She can’t drop a bomb like that and leave it hanging.”
Another wrote: “I know she’s moved on but I’m still thinking about Amber Heard saying her dog stepped on a bee.”
A fourth user asked: “Why did Amber Heard tell the whole court her dog stepped on a bee? How is that relevant?”
When will the trial continue?
The trial started on April 11th in Fairfax, Virginia, and is set to last five weeks in total. The verdict of the trial is expected to be given on Thursday, May 19th.
Johnny Depp is suing Amber Heard for defamation because of an op-ed she published in the Washington Post in 2018, although the article didn’t mention him by name. Heard is countersuing Depp.
The trial continues.
